One Year in Germany

Wow it's June! A year ago today I was on my mission.... That's weird, BUT I was a baby missionary and I had been in the field for like 3 weeks and couldn't understand anything. Now here I am training a baby missionary and luckily I can understand almost everything (speaking is another story) but hey, PROGRESS.

Embarrassing moment.. I realized this week that the whole time I have been in Austria I've been asking people, "can I go into your toilet instead of, "can I use your toilet?".........(like literally inside of the toilet) I was hitting my forehead a lot of times for that one, Sister Wilkes. Anyways, besides that moment of realization and embarrassment I had such a great week! The Lord really blessed us this week!!

On Monday we went to the Natural History Museum on p-day and then after that we visited B and R since R is in the hospital. He is the best, and has such a positive attitude. He was just cracking jokes the whole time while sitting on his hospital bed.

Tuesday we had district meeting and then went to Herb's and ate massive schnitzel. Then in the evening the friend's cooked us Iranian food again since Elder Robertson was getting transferred the next day.

Thursday we had the BEST lesson with Kevin! He just LOVES the Book of Mormon, which is so great because of how nervous he was to read it at first. We read about the tree of life together and he loved that so much. He kept saying,"why is the rest of the world not connected with the Latter Day Saints yet???" He also gives us missionary tips at the end of each lesson on how we can preach better out on the street. (haha) He's the best. That evening we took a Book of Mormon to that woman we met last week. She seemed really grateful and we are going to go by again this week to follow up.

On Friday we had lunch with the Enekel's. They are my favorite cutest little family ever, and their baby is so adorable. We went to Nicole's house and just read with her in the Book of Mormon. She had read about Lehi's vision the day before and her daughter wanted to paint with her so she painted a picture of Lehi's vision for us and wrote part of 1 Nephi 8:24 on it, "and they did press forward through the mist of darkness, clinging to the rod of iron, even until they did come forth and partake of the fruit of the tree." She said that scripture really touched her!

Saturday was so great. We had a ward summer/grill party. We sent out a mass text to people in our phone and a few people came that we didn't even know which was so cool! Nicole and her kids came as well.

Grill Fest

Also last week I spoke to a woman on the train, I told her I loved her shirt and then we started talking and we exchanged numbers, Her name is N. (she's from Iran) We called her and set up and appointment for Saturday right before Grill Fest, but she went to the wrong address, which was all the way across town. We told her she could come to Grill Fest and she did!! She also brought two friends. We gave them a church tour and they loved it! They seriously said that they wanted to come back and they had such a good feeling at the church. We invited them to church and they came! We had Regional Conference so Elder Christofferson spoke to the Europe area over satellite. We had K, N, Y (her friend) and another friend that she brought with us. It was so great! It was also K's first day at church, but he had to leave early which was sadly right as Elder Christofferson started speaking since he was the last speaker. He turned to me and he was like, "dang it I have to leave right as the apostle gets up to speak!" He stayed a little longer so he could hear part of his talk. After the meeting N pointed to her friend that she brought and said, "he wants to learn more about the Mormon Church so we took the 3 of them to a classroom and had a lesson. All three of them are from Iran so I called M and asked if they could come down and translate in case he didn't understand something. M, B and another M that the elders are teaching came in and they just took over the lesson. B can't really speak English so he doesn't speak much but it was so cool to see him talking to them in his mother language, and he was teaching something powerful. We couldn't understand anything but the spirit was soooo stong! They all committed to read the Book of Mormon and Y even asked what class to take to become a member. They were wondering how long it would take and what they would have to do to move forward. It. was. so.great!

We has such a great week! I love the special spirit that you can feel in the church buildings. Every time we have someone come to church whether it be for a tour or for a service they ALWAYS comment on that. I'm so grateful for the blessings Heavenly Father blessed us with this week.

Love you all,

Sister Price
