First off, Courtney looks gorgeous! Her hair is so long!! I hope you told her hello for me! Usually my P day is on Monday, but its a holiday here on Monday and so we can't go to the cafe. (we email in a super sketchy internet cafe)
I thought England was beautiful, but Germany is absolutely gorgeous!! I arrived in Germany on Wednesday morning after waking up at 3:45am to catch our flight. It was exhausting. On the plane I sat next to Elder Petty from my district and when they announced the safety instructions in German, I said the classic "Best Two Years" quote. "Thats not the language they taught me in the MTC." I knew exactly how the character in that movie was feeling!
We were supposed to take a train to the mission home and hand out a Book of Mormon on the way, but there has been a train strike here so the train never came. We drove to the home, of which I was relieved because I have no clue how i would have done that. We had a short training with the assistants and then we had dinner and testimony meeting with President Kohler and his family, and then we stayed in a hotel overnight. To be honest with you the first two days in Germany were very difficult for me. For the first time in my mission the thought of wanting to go home popped into my head. I was exhausted, sick to my stomach from food allergies, I understood nothing and i didnt feel like I knew the Gospel well enough to preach it. Just everything hit me at once and i wanted to go home... it was bad. After I got a good amount of sleep I was fine. Dont worry I'm fine now, and I love it here!!
Thursday was transfers so there was about 20 missionaries grouped together in the middle of the train station with all of our luggage, we turned some heads. I should have taken a picture..I'll do that next transfer. My first area is called Tübingen. Its in the eastern part of the mission boundries. Try looking it up online because it is the epitomy of a typical old time Geman town!

It's the coolest thing!! I'll take tons of pictures this next week so you can see. It's so cute.. On my first day here all of the appointments we had fell through so we just registered me in the country and then went out to town where we gave a Book of Mormon to alady in town. Ok, I did nothing because I don't speak German.. my comp did it all.... i just smiled and waved... haha actually people think its fascinating when I tell them that i have only been in Germany for 3 days. They think its awesome. and the young people here LOVE Americans! There's a university in this town and we always make contact in this park where they all party so when they talk to us:
1. They are shocked that we, and by we, I mean Sister Ahlm, speaks German.
2. They are fascinated that we are from America.
Oh and my trainer is Sister Ahlm!! She's awesome! Shes so chill and she is just plain wonderful. Shes from D.C. but her family moved to Idaho right before she left.... and we are also Sister Training Leaders for our zone (my zone is the Stuttgart zone) We taught one lesson today and I just bore my testimony. Luckily my comp said that it was exactly what she needed so that was good! I have some big shoes to fill here as the sister whom I replaced, Sister Baugh, all the investigators loved. (literally one man is IN LOVE with her apparently) so they are taking some time to open up to me. I've got to work hard to earn their trust!
We ate dinner at a members house which was nice because.... THEY SPOKE ENGLISH!! They are from America, so that was a nice break but tomorrow we have a three hour eating appointment with someone who speaks only German so they might think that I'm a mute... but whatevss.... I'm sure your all just have one question on your mind.. Hows my German going?.... Well I didnt think it was going well, but sister Ahlm says that my German is great!! Especially for coming straight from the MTC! That made me feel good. sadly in the MTC they dont teach you much about having conversations in German. ( I feel like that's something they should teach you) When Sister Ahlm talks to people I am able to pick up words here and there so I can follow where the conversation is going a bit but there's no way that I can join in. They talk so fast, but I'll get it! German is a really cool language! Seriously it's not as scary as it sounded at first. When you hear people speaking it fluently its very cool.
Oh my gosh, dream come true. I saw two men yelling at each other in German.. it was the scariest thing ever but also funny because he wasnt yelling at me...
So, the deal with the straightener.. if you haven't sent it already.. don't... my converter doesn't work.... Sis Ahlm says that they usually dont work well with hair things. I will just buy a German straightener here, I have extra money in my fund.. but if your feeling generous.. and want to order a German hair curler over Amazon Germany... that would be a great b- day present. You know what, heres a list of b- day gift ideas.
1. curler
2. regular deodorant (that smells good not the kind you use mom)
3. PEANUT BUTTER!!
4. someone to translate for me would be nice
5. music
6. someone to translate for me
7. my own translator would be so great!
Yep, a missionaries birthday wish list is pretty darn sad...also will you ask around for some easy gluten free bread recipes, maybe some that are made with rice flour or something like that, not a complicated recipe.. That would be awesome.. its rough to be gluten and lactose intolerant in the land of bread, cheese and chocolate...
Well thats a really long letter and its probably filled with nonsense, but oh well..
love you guys!!
Love Sister Price

Today is P-day. We hiked to a chapel on a hill called Wurmlinger Kapelle, the view was incredible, and it rained the whole time.
